Georgetown University Conducts Monitoring Visit to Kano and Abuja, Offers Technical Support to GGHN

A delegation from Georgetown University conducted a field monitoring visit to Kano and Abuja to examine the progress of the ACE project and provide technical support in areas identified by the Georgetown Global Health Nigeria (GGHN) team. In Kano, the Facility management teams gave the GU delegation a tour of the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital (MMSH), Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) and the Al Noury Specialist Hospital. The delegates shared best practices with the management to bridge specific service delivery gaps they had identified during the visit. In Abuja, GGHN conducted a two-day meeting with the GU team to share progress updates on each project. The GU team commended GGHN for its achievements but noted that the team could do more to improve the visibility of the work the organization is doing. To this end, the GU team offered to provide technical support and mentor GGNH as it looks to improve visibility and its research processes.
