Securing a Robust Public Health Emergency Management System

GGHN, through Georgetown University, organized a meeting with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) to discuss the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded Public Health Emergency Management Center of Excellence (PHEM CoE). PHEM CoE is a universal initiative designed to build countries' capacities and institutionalize best practices to prevent, detect and respond to public health emergencies. The Director General of NCDC, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa, committed to working with both partners to drive the pilot program. Scheduled to begin on 3rd January 2023, the program looks to strengthen ongoing multi-sectoral health security processes to improve national public health emergency management through the NCDC.
