Emeka Madubuko, Associate Director of Digital Health and Innovations at Georgetown Global Health Nigeria (GGHN), is a seasoned software system architect and full-stack software developer with over 10 years of experience. Since transitioning into the public health space more than seven years ago, he has played a pivotal role in health informatics, contributing to a range of health programs, including HIV/TB, disease surveillance, and multi-disease laboratory systems. He is an active member of various cross-cutting health informatics communities of practice.

Notably, Emeka spearheaded the first in-country development of the National Data Repository (NDR) for the Federal Ministry of Health during his tenure with the University of Maryland (UMB) Nigeria program. He was also a pioneer member of the OpenMRS community of practice in Nigeria, which led to the creation of Nigeria’s own version, NMRS.

Currently, Emeka is actively involved with the LAMISPlus community of practice, where he applies his extensive experience in software development, systems thinking, health informatics, data analytics, and database tuning and optimization.

Emeka holds a first degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, an MBA from the University of South Wales, and an MSc in Computer Science from the University of East London.
