Dr. Yakubu Raji, Associate Director of Epidemiology and Research, brings extensive experience in academics, clinical practice, and public health, with a strong passion for research reflected in numerous publications in high-impact journals. With a focus on managing and implementing public health programs in both government and private sectors in Nigeria, he has made significant contributions to infectious disease surveillance, prevention, care, and treatment.
Dr. Raji has played pivotal roles in public health surveillance during various infectious disease outbreaks in Niger State, serving as a pillar lead and clinical management expert. He has also held key positions such as Deputy Incident Manager and Incident Manager at the Emergency Operation Centre, leading response efforts for outbreaks including Cholera, Meningitis, Yellow Fever, Lassa Fever, and others.
Currently, Dr. Raji provides technical assistance for the Polio Eradication Program in fragile, conflict, and violence-affected areas of Niger and Katsina states. He holds a master's degree and PhD in Medical Microbiology, specializing in emerging viral (zoonotic) diseases, and brings a wealth of expertise to advancing public health initiatives.
